I do love Japan, and love Japanese food always. No matter what kinds staple food or traditional dessert. Croquette (ころっけ) is one of my favorite Japanese foodstuff. In Taiwan, it is very rare to see this which can be called a snake or a staple foodstuff. In fact, it is not a very expensive food in Japan. Just because rarity, we can see the price is not quite acceptable to everyone.
First, you should prepare fresh potatoes, toast, wheaten flour and some eggs. Second, steam the potatoes and make sure each one is totally tender and cooked, then use your own creation to make the shape you think it look like delicious (Maybe you can add some ham or vegetables you like). Third, let the potatoes add wheaten flour, eggs and bread powder (bake the toast then use squeezer to stir it). Remember, you have to step by step accordingly.Forth, throw all of them into hot oil between 180~200∘C at least ten minutes. Before you take out of it, turn the bigger fire in order to let inside oil come out. The last step is to find a pretty plant to match the croquette. Trust me, the more simple you choose the more look like yummy and gorgeous.
